Apparently throughout the summer you should be thriftily preserving the best fruits in rum or brandy (I have even seen a recipe using gin called Gintopf) for "entertainment" in the winter. I think said entertainment has to do with spooning the fruit over cake or ice cream, and doing shots of the liquor. Eat, drink AND party!!!
What a marvelous idea. I'm really curious about the gin idea.
Apricots in brandy.
Peaches and nectarines would work too.
