12 years ago Aubrey de Grey gave a TED talk on ending aging and his point still stands: We will make strides on ending aging when we start funding it properly. Similar to the argument for fusion.

Having read de Grey's book I have to say his approach in talking about ending aging is far more scientifically compelling than this researcher's pep talk on what CRISPR can do.

She tells some stories but doesn't really get into aging per se, just preventative care against susceptibility and what's probably coming in the future. What de Grey talks about is fundamentally different, namely keeping the body in a state of youthfulness that extends to its immune system response that allows it to stave off those diseases that the elderly might succumb to more readily.
