EA Asks Everyone What Movie They Would Make Into a Video Game. Here's What They Said
Nick Griffen stashed this in Video Games
Stashed in: Rage!, Are You Not Entertained?, Create, Gamification!, games, Inception!, Brad Pitt!, Quentin Tarantino, Mario and Friends
So EA asked Twitter what movie they would have turned into a video game. Here are some of the responses Kotaku has compiled.
Gangs of New York was my favorite response but Rockstar needs to get that one.
What would PandaWhale choose?
Inception. Gladiator. Braveheart. Taken. Although, IMHO the question is better in reverse. In that case it would be Halo
Somebody should make a game based off of the classic 1993 Super Mario Bros
Worst movie I've ever seen.
Ever?!
Ever.
Then I guess you haven't seen Sucker Punch.
I liked Sucker Punch.
For reverse movies: Left for Dead 2.
Yes (below) to Blues Brothers, though I clearly remember having one on Nintendo.
The biggest complaint I heard from movie reviewers about Sucker Punch was that it was too much like a video game. The plot was crappy but so is every video game. Nobody really cares why Mario or Link have to save the princess but they do and you have fun on the way. The worst movie plots will probably make better video games. Also I think Tarantino has been quoted as saying he will never make a video game, so keep dreaming. And an Inception video game is still in the works last I heard but I wont get my hopes up.
Sucker Punch WAS like a videogame without a plot. They should have spent more on writing.
That's too bad about Tarantino and Inception.
Several Brad Pitt movies with great plots -- such as Moneyball, Ocean's 11, and Fight Club -- could be great games.
Inception. Kill Bill. Ocean's 11. Fight Club. Blues Brothers!!!
Sweet. Actually, any Quentin Tarantino movie.
Agrees, Adam. Looking forward to Django Unchained.
