"I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed..." ~Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan has a way with words:
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
The source of that line is 30 inspirational entrepreneur quotes.
It reminds me of Winston Churchill's line,
"Success is moving from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm."
Or as I blogged,
"Knocked down seven times, get up eight!"

Now, get in there!
Happily, Jeffrey. Being an entrepreneur means riding an emotional roller coaster.
But you don't have to ride alone, cause your 106 homies will be in the car with you -- screaming and puking :)
The key is not to ride alone.

That's kinda funny, because for years I have been telling people that every shot Michael Jordan missed, was another step in his success. Thomas Edison said that he di not look at any of his hundreds of attempts to invent the lightbulb as failures only learning tools towards getting the result. I say take the word failure out of our vocabulary!
I just read the book, The Talent Code. Highly recommend it. Explores hot beds of talent to examine what common themes exist amongst people who succeed... and demystifies the process
Well said. Thomas Edison tried thousands of filaments while failing to make a working long-lasting light bulb, and I believe the line is, “I never failed. I simply discovered 10,000 ways not to do it!”
You heard me. Thousands of filaments. Just for a working long-lasting light bulb.
"I have not failed. I've simply discovered 10,000 ways that don't work." ~Thomas Alva Edison (1847 – 1931) American inventor, scientist and businessman
By the way, what do you think of my Gaga Painting?
It belongs in the Gaganheim: http://www.tbd.com/blogs/tbd-arts/2010/09/tales-from-gaga-artist-gerald-hubert-s-gaganheim--1426.html
"4sq is not 2 years of success, but 10 years of my failures" says @dens
I'm glad he pointed that out because on first glance it isn't obvious how much he struggled.
I'm referring to this line in the billion dollar valuations Convo.
"we're walking off the floor and Tex look at me and says 'you know, there's no 'i' in team'. And I said 'Tex, there's not, there's not an 'i' in team, but there's an 'i' in win.'"
There is a ME in team but I like the way you say it better, Ed.
Not Michael Jordan fails a lot, too: http://allthingsd.com/20120417/viral-video-not-being-michael-jordan/
