Adam Rifkin stashed this in Nutrition!
What exactly is a superfood? Naked Health defines it as, “any edible natural item (plant or animal) that contains exceptionally high levels of a certain nutrient that supposedly carries specific health benefits for preventing or fighting disease.”
20 Superfoods: Acai Berries, Agave, Almonds, Asparagus, Avocado, Barley, Blueberries, Chia Seeds, Coconut, Cranberries, Fish Oil, Goji Berries, Ginger, Green Tea, Kale, Pomegranate, Quinoa, Seaweed, Wheatgrass, Yuzu.
Actually, any leafy vegetable is very good for you. Eat more of them.
Kale is most beneficial if blanched first, helps lower your cholesterol, except then it's a bit stinky so if you juice it with melons or any fruits really you have no clue it's even in there :)
