Exercise can be as effective as many frequently prescribed drugs in treating some of the leading causes of death, according to a new report. The study raises important questions about whether our health care system focuses too much on medications and too little on activity to combat physical ailments.
It definitely does. Insurance companies will pay for drugs but not exercise club memberships.
If people exercised, and ate well, we would have a huge reduction in illnesses and medication use. I would guess close to 50% of what we get treated for is preventable with lifestyle changes, maybe more than 50%.
Yes but there is big business in selling people bad food.
And there is big business in selling people medication.
What you're saying makes sense but economic forces oppose that sense.
