Not to perpetuate any noxious stereotypes of a Hibernian nature, but I was thinking of celebrating St Patricks Day by braising a 7-lb corned beef in beer, and then glazing and broiling it.
Does beer have special properties that your usual braising does not have?
Um... it TASTES LIKE BEER, which other braising liquids oddly do not?!?!?
Sure, but it doesn't make the corned beef taste like beer, right? ... Or DOES IT?!
