I am a lazy flatfish who wanted to see how slobby I could be and still get good results from this recipe. So I threw the lemon in there whole, ginger barely cut up, dumped the yeast in with everything else, and instead of adding boiling water that got cooled to lukewarm I just went straight for the lukewarm. Guess what? Everything turned out just fine, and I STILL look like a genius to my drinking buddies. Seriously, take 5 minutes to make a batch of this stuff before a cocktail party. ps I like a good Dark and Stormy, but you can also go Moscow Mule by subbing in vodka.
