This video is extremely important. Sugar in excess acts like an addictive drug. Of course sugar is delicious; it lights up the brain with dopamine just like heroin, but without the extreme withdrawal symptoms. It has become a substance that is closely correlated with addictive behaviors and negative health symptoms. Don't take my word for it.
Here is some great research if you want to start learning more:

- Consumption of high-fructose corn syrup in beverages may play a role in the epidemic of obesity
- Daily bingeing on sugar repeatedly releases dopamine in the accumbens shell
- Visualizing neuromodulation in vivo: TANGO-mapping of dopamine signaling reveals appetite control of sugar sensing
- Sugar and fat bingeing have notable differences in addictive-like behavior
- Opiate-like effects of sugar on gene expression in reward areas of the rat brain
- Evidence for sugar addiction: behavioral and neurochemical effects of intermittent, excessive sugar intake
- Sugar-sweetened beverages and cardio-metabolic disease risks
