Uber Co-founder Garrett Camp's BlackJet is Uber for Private Planes - Liz Gannes

Chris Yeh approves!:
"This is a great idea. The current private jet market is broken. If I want to book a private coast-to-coast round trip, it would cost me $25K or so. At these rates, it's roughly comparable with First Class travel."
He's talking about this:
"Users will pay a membership fee of a couple thousand dollars to start, and then $950 for each short flight and $3,500 for each cross-country flight. The service will be invite-only to start."
That does seem rather cheap compared to $25k.
Call it, democratization of services for the 1% that make them available to the 10%, e.g. Uber, Taskrabbit, Blackjet.
As someone who has organized missions trips and what not, it'd be interested on what kind of seating arrangements go on here. $3500/plane or per person? A 12-seat private jet across the country for $3500 is CHEAP if that's a per/plane price. In comparison, Virgin's cheapest SF-PHL/LA-PHL flight is $309. And that's if you get the lowest price.
I'm curious what pricing they go with, too.
