Google may be celebrating that Apple hasn't innovated anything new, but...

Apple commands a brand cachet that will not go away anytime soon.

The real losers here are Microsoft/Nokia and Blackberry. There's just no place in the market for them.

I agree. Apple won't be out of the market anytime in the foreseeable future BUT I think the death of Steve Jobs really had a much larger impact on that company than they will let the public know. He was the mad scientist mastermind behind the great innovation there, and I think Google is now in the driver seat of the smartphone innovation. 

But yeah, Microsoft and Blackberry are definitely the odd companies out here. That is just a matter of time. Blackberry used to be the king of the hill, and they got complacent long enough for Apple and Steve Jobs to come in and takeover with complete dominance. I think Google is the next king of the hill now.
