Slim pickings in 2013 include a trivia app for smartphones and Soylent, the food substitute.
There's also Distractify, a website for people who think Upworthy is too intelligent.
Hatch is attempting to lead the maker and remix generation. Wtf:
Add to that Google Ventures $38 million investment in Uber for House Cleaning, and venture capital's unhealthy obsession with Bitcoin, and 2013 has shaped up to be one of the worst startup years ever.
Volume is down for sure, but on the other hand, I'd argue that there is better variety.
It's nice to have a year where the list is not dominated strictly by webapps.
Actually, it would be nice to see a new web app get some hype. It's been a while.
